Below you will find a number of projects that demonstrate my AVL capabilities. While I’m proud of these projects, they don’t represent my entire abilities—just snapshots.

My Work

Alisa Childers PreShow

We held a conference with keynote speaker Alisa Childers. To make the day feel bigger (and cater to our online audience) we hosted a PreShow for those watching online. This was a big success and people loved it. The show really was the cherry on top.

My Roles: I was the visionary behind the idea and carried this from ideation to execution. I created all of the elements you see on screen, ran the cabling, and ensured that everything ran as smooth as possible. In addition I ran the switcher, audio console, and directed the show.

YTH Conference Morning Show

This summer we mixed up how we did our youth summer camp. Rather than having everyone at the building all the time, we had host homes and only came to the building for the sessions (similar to a conference). We had the idea to do a morning show for the students to watch in the host homes.

My Roles: I partnered with the youth team to put meat on the bones and take this from ideation to the finish line. Again, I created all of the elements you see on screen, ran the cabling, and set up the set. In addition I ran the switcher, audio console, and directed the show.

Son of Suffering Music Video

This was an Easter special that we recorded. I directed, shot, and edited. Additionally, I played a small role in mixing the piece (helping with equipment and some basis things).

My Roles: I directed, shot, and edited. Additionally, I played a small role in mixing the piece (helping with equipment and some basis things). This highlights my understanding for lighting. We rented 4 additional (and very large) lights for this. While it was a media shoot, we did use AVL, production grade lighting that is also used on Sundays.

Sunday Funday Host

Each month we would have “Sunday Funday” a weekend dedicated to taking time and fostering community for those that attend the church. We try to mix it up each month and this particular month we grilled hot dogs and wore jerseys to church. However, we didn’t want to just tell people about it, we wanted to show it.

My Roles: I came up with the idea of how to do a “on the street” camera. Directed the tech team on how to pull it off, ran the necessary cables, and hosted the event. People loved it and a lot of hot dogs were consumed.

Control Room

We wanted to gain more control over our livestream so we created a broadcast control room. In this there is a switcher, audio console, ProPresenter, graphics engine, and monitors to view all of the inputs.

I mapped out, installed, and maintained all of this equipment. Additionally, I ran the online stream most Sundays.

I’ve attached a few rough pictures below.
